Who are we?
We are a group of people in Central Pennsylvania that gather weekly to study the Word of God and fellowship with one another in a casual, safe environment. Our hope is that as the group continues to grow, that we can officially launch as a church plant that intentionally teaches the whole counsel of God and thus worships Jesus authentically, equips disciples for the work of the ministry, and makes new disciples of Jesus Christ in the Moshannon Valley area.
We currently meet in Philipsburg, but we come from different towns around the area including Smithmill, Madera, Houtzdale, and some as far away as Huntingdon. We have a broad range of age groups and people from every walk of life who have chosen to be a part of our group because they desire to learn more about Jesus, learn more about the Bible, and to develop our relationships with Almighty God.
Ultimately, we exist to make mature disciples of Jesus Christ throughout the Moshannon Valley and we pray that you would consider joining us as we seek to bring glory to God in our mission.
and details about our Bible studies
We currently meet at 135 N. Front St., Apt. 2 in Philipsburg, PA 16866 (just a few doors down from the Rowland Theatre) at 10:30am every Sunday. There is plenty of available free parking on N. Front St. and E. Pine St. Because we know that it can sometimes be awkward just showing up at someone's home, we try to alleviate some of the awkwardness by meeting you on the sidewalk in front of the building.
When you arrive, please make yourself at home--grab some coffee and a snack from the kitchen, find a seat in the living room, and feel free to chat with those around you.
Because we're a smaller group at the moment and because we're trying to keep everything as simple as possible our "service" might be a little different than what you're used to. This is what you can expect--you can expect any announcements that pertain to the whole group right at the beginning, an opening prayer, Scripture reading, and a 40-45 minute message directly from Scripture. After the message, we'll close off the message portion with prayer and you're more than welcome to ask questions about the message, about Jesus Christ, about the Bible, or really anything on your mind--we are here to help answer questions and there is no need to rush off right after the message.
We chose Philipsburg due to its central location to many different communities that all needed consistent preaching and teaching that focused on the whole counsel of God. It is our hope that as we grow in Christlikeness through the expositional preaching and teaching of the Bible, we mature as disciples and we intentionally seek to make more disciples of Jesus Christ in the Moshannon Valley.
While Central Pennsylvania has smaller communities that are scattered over significant lengths, there are still approximately 55,000 people that live within 15 miles of Philipsburg (according the US Census Bureau) and that need to hear the whole counsel of God. Our hope and prayer is that we can spread the truth of the Gospel throughout the region regardless of which town the individual lives in, what county they work in, or what school they might attend--their spiritual life is far more important than distance.
